BROCKTON, Mass. —There were 16 overdoses reported in Brockton Wednesday, according to city officials.
None of the overdoses were fatal, the Enterprise reported.
The city typically averages about two to three per day, according to city officials.
As of Thursday morning, police did not know of any connection between the overdoses.
Fentanyl, a powerful painkiller stronger than heroin, has been found recently to be mixed with heroin in the city causing many overdoses. It is unclear if the drug was the cause of any of the overdoses Wednesday.
